Driftit 2078 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) I love wacky conversions. Mates working on a rear wheel RB26 CRX at the mo Woh. Tell him to purchase Life Insurance before he turns the key. Extremely powerful motor + Car made of glass and tin foil = new paint job for a power pole. edit: gees I am spelling like a 5 year old today. Oh wait. Thats everyday. Just forgetting to spell check. pjay 8 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 haha thats just a waste! Is it? A waste would be settling for average. A RB26 CRX is far from average. And DW driftit. These guys are crazy. CRX nuts. One of the guys built a CRX ute, and another dabbles in the VTEC turbo goodness. Always with CRX's though. Each to their own ay?

Apex 693 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 It looks odd to me, and kind of pointless. Looking at the configuration this would make it RWD and a Mitsubishi isn’t set up to be RWD, it’s a FWD chassis with rear wheel torque split and looking at the rear end it doesn’t look as if it is set up for being RWD (camber, toe, caster) so it would handle like sh*t.. If it’s AWD still it might be running a modified AUDI drive system?? I wouldn’t think the BMW engine would be any stronger than a built Mitsubishi unit. That engine in a E30/36, then you’re talking. CamB 48 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 I wouldn’t think the BMW engine would be any stronger than a built Mitsubishi unit. Well the block is extremely strong, the crank and rods are forged and assume they used forged pistons for a turbo build. The heads on an S14 have HUGE ports. I mean HUGE. The power potential at any given boost is gonna be massive. Plus it can "easily" (hey, its only money) be 2.5 litres.
bellicose 9 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 The thing is, we have cheap Jap performance parts and expensive Euro performance parts. In Europe it's the total oppisite, have seen cars in Scandenavian (sp?) countries that make you think WTF, ie: 3.6 and 3.8 turbo M5 motors in Skylines. |ncary 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 RWD converted Evo's handle fantasticly, even better if you have a super light S14 in the front.
CamB 48 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 super light S14 Thats a bit of an oxymoron. An S14 can never be called light - just lighter than an M20 or M50.
|ncary 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 I've read it's under 100 kg's.. That's pretty light for a 220hp engine.
