bmw335i 16 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Hi guys, i havnt done any research yet... jus wondering if anyone could give me a quick yes or no answer realy.... i have a e34 535i manual. and am planning to swap it the engine/gbox into the e30. i have pritymuch done my 5stud conv/ read other thred. just wondering if i can make my e30 open diff into an lsd using the e34lsd parts? or are the inturnals a different size? if not is there anyone out there who may swap the e34lsd for an e30lsd? Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 First thing you need to check is if the E34 is LSD, not all are. Then see if it's med case or large case, if med case you can use it to make an E30 med case diff LSD by swapping the internals, you need a med case E30 diff to do this. Also a good time to get the ratio right, I'd suggest 3.73 or 3.91, I've found the 4.10 spins too easily in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
bmw335i 16 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 yea i know the e34 is an lsd... will have to check out 2mrow id its a med or large case... seeming i have changed to 5stud rear end. obviously the same as 4stud. but is there any thing i have to change if i go from small to med case? BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 when i looked at it while ago ,you have a large case lsd . so wont work . did you find the ratio tag and clean it up properly . i might be able to get you a medium case lsd unit , and do a trade ,depending on what ratio you have .
