What would the wise heads of BS do

So in between all my blood, sweat and tears from my project car not working properly

My question to you is:

Do I:

1. Take all the good/new shiny stuff off my maroon car and put it into this, so its a coupe, find a manual conversion etc and go bananas.

2. Take the motor out of the silver one, put it in my maroon car (since its a bloody tidy shell) and convert etc

3. Not bother and leave my car as is.

Motor condish is questionable, but could part the car out enough to cover anything within reason and make my money back.

How easy is it to change motors in regards to mounts etc? And with me not knowing the motor age i.e PFL, FL etc changing the ECU is going to be a pain.

Advice is appreciated

TBH the M20 will still leave you wishing you hadn’t bothered if you want to go decently fast.

Thats idealy what I plan to do, just thought if I could snag it cheaply it may be worth it but yeah, risky.

id pass on that, keep the maroon one, finish that off to your standards, drive it and have fun!

Meanwhile, save hard, research about m50s/52s and forced induction regarding those engines, then go nuts in a few years time!

What im hoping to do myself, but time and money and priorities will tell!

I'd pass on the "massive 325 engine!" and either get a m20b20 or m40b18 and build your car to race series spec.

Yeah thanks for your replies everyone, will give it a miss this time then will try and pick a motor (m50 etc) up so I can teach myself about it etc, rebuild it then transplant or just buy a better e30 when I get bored and go nuts

Ha yes. Love that boat anchor call, have read it from many knowledagble sources. Does my 240 fit up to a m50? nOOBzor alert. Like for real?

stick with N/A if you want to track it, you don't need FI

yep, it will. haven't tried it myself, but the bolt patterns are correct. probably won't die for a while also! although you may want to find a 325i box for if it does sh*t itself

Cheers gus, yeah think the box is on its way out soon. Will be something to look into for the future. Can just see it now, stealth as with its 316i badges on, m50 under the hood, schooling peeps. Haha
