Want to replace E36 Headunit but still use stock stacker

Recommended Posts

I want to upgrade the head unit in my import '96 E36 so I have a single disc CD player and an aux in for the iPod. Is there any way of doing this and still being able to use my factory stacker? I note the stacker uses Alpine magazines, does this mean I should be able to plug it into any Alpine unit?

FYI this is the head unit. From google images, so not sure if the model number reference is correct.Posted Image

yes maybe but you will need to get a new stacker cable (cant use the bmw one)and a older type alpine cd deck to match .

or maybe a get a bmw speced cd player to work with the stacker .

One of these?

Yes, that would be perfect.

I have never seen one for sale though. People tend to either hold on to them, or list them asking for drug money.

Pm Jochen.

I got mine from him new. He may be able to help.

It's a CD43 from a Z3 and I believe you can get Ipod adapters for it.
