Lucan 196 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Prob old news but my mumz emailed this to me.. It's a Mercedes Benz owned by an Abu Dhabi oil billionaire (naturally). Featuring the newly developed V10 quad turbo with 1,600 horsepower and 2800nm of torque 0-100km/h in less than 2secs, 1/4 mile in 6.89secs running on biofuel. That is NOT stainless steel people. SIR E30 68 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 (edited) There ain't no way your quad turboing a V10Why not? 2 turbos on each bank.. Two exhaust manifold, two intake manifolds. Your away! Kind of a "twin sequential" setupEdit: Bugatti Veyron? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Volkswagen_W16.jpg Also.. Slightly doubting the quarter mile times based on the weight of the car. But still fun to think about how my E30 would go with that motor.... Edited June 1, 2009 by SIR E30
Apex 693 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Those times are what a drag car would run, would be impossible in a conventional car. Cool looking car but!

SIR E30 68 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 2 Turbos on each bank of 5 cylinders. So three cylinders to 1 turbo and the other turbo gets only 2 cylinders? Weird I see what you are getting at.. So my example of the bugatti motor has nothing to do with it cause it has 8 cylinders on each side instead of 5. Btw I'm not having a go, just challenging your idea as a way of learning.I am still trying to find information on a quad turbo V10 but not coming up with much... elmarco 56 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) A low and high pressure setup per bank? I hope that's gold paint - otherwise it will weigh a metric shitload, and be soft as all hell. Edit: Haha - I worked on the lighting for that vehicle in Europe! The headlamps use a full advanced front lighting system and was very complex for the time. Driftit 2078 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 I remember seeing pictures of this car years ago. And was indeed advertising the fact that it had been painted using new chrome paint. Where did this white gold horse sh*t come from? Not only that but who made up those equally horse sh*t power and 1/4 mile figures?

|ncary 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) How can there be so much torque and so little horsepower? Must only rev to 3500. And 2sec 0-100? Not even F1 cars do that. (on race tires, not qual tires) *FROM A FR!!!! Christ, lets think for a second. Although those oil barons make millions a day. The white gold is quite Gstar. And I don't think Merc makes many V10's. The SLR is a supercharged V8 Edited June 2, 2009 by Incary
