antil33t 90 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) Hey there... It must sound like i bought a pretty crap car but, I went for a resonably long drive (about 250km/direction) but I noticed that the car, at 100kph would rev at 2,900rpm Used most of the tank of fuel (60L) to do this. Any ideas? Oh, and it's F/L Auto. Cheers, Michael Edited June 7, 2009 by antil33t
Greg111 13 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 2,900rpm is pretty good for an E30, the consumption however isn't, i'd check for fuel leaks in the system somewhere.
Mark 178 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) My E30 revs at about 2,900 when driving at 100km/h in 5th. Fuel consumption is a concern.... does it run rich? Can you smell fuel distinctly from the exhaust when the car is cold? Edited June 7, 2009 by _Mark_
tire 10 Report post Posted June 7, 2009 I'm pulling 2900 odd at 100 too, in my fl 318i manual. Check your fuel lines and mixture cause that fuel consumption is excessive.

Was that a 250km drive? or a 250km drive in each direction, as in 500kms? If the latter than i'd say thats not too bad, i averaged just over 10l/100km in my Manual PFL 320i... Ahh well,, I guess that's just the way it is eh? Edited June 7, 2009 by antil33t
