Engine/Machine Shop

Recommended Posts

Anyone on here can recommend a shop i've seen "Slammin's site and he's done his work at Cylinder Head Specialists, Glenfield.

Any others that's not on the shore?

Need to probably inject new life into an ETA block i picked up.

Im looking at getting tanked to clean it up.

Reboring or sleving it.

Pistons could do with a clean up to.

Any ideas how much this will cost? or would it be cheaper to tip it into the skip?

Cheers

Hi there,

I am from Glendene Engine Reconditioners (GER) in West Auckland and also race the BMW Race series. We have built alot of the engines for cars in the series and would be more than able to carry out the work you require. You can check out our website www.ger.co.nz where you will find all of our contact details or call me on (09) 818 5352 for prices etc. I would be more than happy to help.

Cheers,

Scott Sampson

I have recieved some great service from

http://www.enginespecialties.co.nz/

they have very modern/advanced machine shop

Also I'd like to mention that I have received rather poor service from Hytech engines in manukau, I would not recommend them to anyone.

That's strange becuase Hytech Engines just reconditioned my 318 motor about 3 months ago and I didn't have any issues with them at all. Nice engine build blog by the way, It's good to have something to read at work when there's nothing to do :P

You have made this statement on the forum... but you have never discussed any issues with Mr Richardson from Hitech. I think that is a bit unfair.... I know this from a discussion I've had with him this afternoon

It's a bit of a long story, and as often the case in this sort of situation, each side has different variation of the story.
