Forrest 35 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Yeah what color Ashkan? And have you got wheels? That will help determine the color.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Yes indeed that was me. Cheers Gaz, will need a bit of work but it should be sweet. No, havent got wheels yet but will probably just be weaves with R888's on them, so nothing flash, but who knows, they will be last. I was going to do it white or black but then I saw this and have had second thoughts.
Forrest 35 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 In before everyone agrees with me and says Planatengrun Metallic I reckon white....E30 race cars should be white
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Yeah, still, it's a lot of money...money that could go into getting the bloody cage done.
Jeddy 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 White or black, easy to touch up all the stone chips from the track. Also prob cheaper initially
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Would prefer black, but the car isn't all that straight atm and would look naff.
Jeddy 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Also your cage must contrast your exterior and interior.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 Cage is going to be some vile maggot colour. Yet to be decided.
antony 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 I say just put parts on the colour they come and see how it all looks. Well done on getting into it a.
JiB 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2009 I reckon, my advice on if you're gonna paint the cage another colour - just bomb the interior with the base colour so you get coverage. Then mask and colour the cage. I did it wrong and just coloured the cage In before everyone agrees with me and says Planatengrun Metallic I reckon white....E30 race cars should be white Nah, they should be dirty dirty poooo brown. DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) If you do paint your cage, do the front part of the cage black it's less distracting and can cut down on glare... and flock your dash... It's a race car... MAKE IT BRIGHT! If i repaint the 205 i've very tempted to make it that acid goldy color thats on the e46's??? Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 Yeah Heath, have been told that by a few people. Anyways, also today managed to gut the shell of all the unnecassary (sp) wiring and got the windshield and dash out. Damn near ready for the cage and new dash to go in. Just have to wait till Mr cage man is free. Also did the manual conversion on the windows and steering wheel arrived to fit onto the rangi ass bosskit. And all red tails + Euro plate. Forrest 35 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 Nice wheel Ashkan, and good stuff getting it going I just brought some of these to match my wheel http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E30-E36...sQ5fAccessories You won't need em cause yours is a race car, but you should be jealous, suede ftw. Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 Yeah the wheel is awesomly comfortable. And to whoever wanted to make an E30 boss kit from the standard E30 wheel. It works.Awesome.
isis 16 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 so what was the non starting issue?
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 To be perfectly honest, I kinda just watched Mike do it. I THINK there were a few ignition>starter wires that were wrong and then bypassed. Sounds tuff with no exhaust. Just need to put on a non oil cooler housing / get another oil cooler and then mandatory burnouts.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Look what came to my house today. Big thanks to Wayne, bloody good person to deal with and really helpful. Just have to start putting them in, have taken old manifold off and swapped to a non oil cooler housing till I can find another decent cooler. And yes. My bed spread is metallic this week. Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Now, how do I detach the steering knuckle so I can slide the headers down? Have undone the bolt and nut at the top and bottom of the knuckle but wont move. Do I have to drop the whole rack from the xmember? I need about | THIS MUCH | room (50-70mm) to get the pipes down :S.
