Wow, looks pretty serious! Did you weld the boot yourself? It's pretty tidy! I wish I had welding game. :(

Also, you might need to flock the dash in something soft-ish or scrutineers might disapprove.

Nah- the rollcageman made it. It would be really straight foward if you didn't roll the end's and used a silicone joiner on the bottom part- would mean only needing to weld bit onto it.

What can I flock it with? Does it have to be padded or would that cheapo vynil stuff from Spotlight work?

Small update.

Will get picks and video up later when I get home.

Took it for it's first drive today up my road. No window's and the seats weren't bolted up. Seems to go sweet and revs right out withhout missing too badly. Will still need some minor tuning.

Back window has warped for f**k knows what reason so will need redoing.

Sorted out the shifter etc.

All wiring is done.

Kit is done.

Just gotta save $$ for bushes and suspension bits :D

you need to put a reinforcing strap in the rear window. Pretty sure it wouldnt pass a cert without one anyway. But yeah will prob sus your warping issue aswel.

I have a strap there but it's warping inwards. I think it is more the cheap sh*t silicone. WIll probably end up redoing it.

Been fairly busy with work and stuff.

But have managed to repaint the interior again in badass Gloss Black, and the cage in Gloss white.

Have also finished the sunroof, am just waiting for it to get tinted so I can throw it in.

Oh should add, the towers that the cage sits on haven't been painted yet- ran out of paint.

And to anyone that is going to paint a cage... starte from the inside and work your way out. Also do the bottom and work your way up. Don't smoke while painting. Don't roll smokes while painting. Don't hit head on any bits that are being painted.

Managed to get some tobacco, hair and a few flies in the paint... but it all adds character :D

Have finally finished doing the seat mounts, no pics of them but they are fairly self explanatory.

Finished mounting and mocking up the dash and gauges.

Moved battery behind the seat.

Unplugged a shitload of now useless wires.

And have now buried myself with wires that have to be plugged in. Yay... <_<

What is a SAFC?

The dash is flockedish. Just covered it in satin black vynil. What a prick of a job!

Cheers for the feedback fellas

vynil = shiny typically...

should be interesting to see how it comes out.... looking forward to see more progress...

If you need a hand with anything let me know, always willing to help out.

SAFC = the gray and blue boxy thing on top of your dash above the guages

Badass. I like so far.

IMO the best modded BMW you have owned so far. Not half as Rangi as the 7.
