Grant 4 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Hi All I spent yesterday at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) in Sonoma near San Francisco yesterday to cheer Scott Dixon on in the Indy Car series. It was a great day (cloudless from noon onwards), however Dixon did not have a great result. Even though we are luckily enough to have an ozone layer here, and I applied suncreen at least twice during the day, I am a tad burned today. The track was great, it is in the middle of wine country, and just appears out of no-where. As it is the height of summer, the landscape is very baron and dry (it does green up a lot in winter) He was shunted and spun on turn two of the first lap, fought his way back to 11th, and then got shunted on the last corner of the last lap to finish 13th. Wade Cunningham did ok in the Indy Lights race, finishing mid pack after surviving an un-assisted spin. Here are some photos (sorry they are very average, as my camera had a flat battery and ended up having to use my phone). However I went with a mate who had a good camera and got some good shots, so I'll post better pics as well once I get them from him.

Andrew 30 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Badass - you got pretty close to the action. Was that a practice day?
Grant 4 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 Badass - you got pretty close to the action. Was that a practice day?No, race day (Sunday).I was amazed at the absolute free reign that you had to walk anywhere. I could have paid a few dollars more and got a pit pass, and that really means that you can go into the pits (except during the actual race time) Cheers Grant
