jameroquai7 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2009 Hi team. I've got a suspicion that my choke may be stuck. I drive a 1987 318i E30. Today I noticed that, when idling, it seems to judder and shake, as if it were running on three cylinders. It sounds like its 'missing' and, is putting out a lot of exhaust. I checked the spark plugs, and sure enough they were sooty and black. The air filter is fine, so my thought is that perhaps the automatic choke has come on and stuck on? Anyone know any easy fixes? A friend has suggested I replace all spark plugs before contacting a mechanic, and I think I will. I think I'll book it in for a service and whatnot tomorrow, as I think it's had choke problems in the past. What's your opinion? Cheers team. James.
