1988 325i Motorsport

Recommended Posts

so is it worth 6500? or no where near it

I'd say that $6,500 is probably not too far off the mark.

It certainly looks pretty tidy. Does it have a service history?

Cheers

I was refering only to the aesthetics

If it has an LSD, i reckon go for it. You can write it off quick, and get all your money back!

Correct G-unit. Ian Haynes' car is insane.

Porsche Turbo BBK, full leather retrim, monster sounds, BBS RC 17" rims... oh and an S50B32.

its not

the reason for the rego confusion is that when its first registered in NZ, anything can be written down....also the M325i was called different things depending on country...in UK it was the 325i Sport.....which is why there is a lot of confusion. considering i just sold mine for 6....it doesnt look THAT fantastic...but it does look pretty nice and has colour coded stuff and basketweaves....it could be a 325i SE..but then we getting confusing!

good luck

whats the diff between a 325sport and 325 motorsport

325i Sport is a UK Spec car.

325i Motorsport is a NZ spec car.

Both these cars are the same. Except for headlight wash/wipe.

There is also 325i Sport, which had the high compression pistons (c.3000 worldwide) and made about 200hp from the 2.5.

AND there was an NZ spec 325i Motorsport with the high comp pistons, one recently sold for 10K, only options being the pistons and an LSD :mosh:

So how would someone tell if its got the high comp engine? would you have to check with the dealer?

Good old finger compression test

blows your finger out = high compression :D

I took a white m325i home from the dealer. It was rough, but went good. I was convincing myself it was "ok". It was wet, i was driving it like i owned it. The clutch blew and the dealer had to pay for a transport right across auckland. Sucker. So be careful....
