e30plz 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 ^ Hawt. The one I saw yesterday had similar stance to that & white walls *drool* http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-240250571.htmBit out of my price range, MK2s seem cheaper so that might be a better option. Apex 693 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 The wagon on the yellow rims is such a beautiful shape, Id hit that in a second. Its just a old MK2 Golf I could slam my dish washer on widened wheels and it would look awesome…. I don’t think she would approve though, a bit mechi. Im going to Rat my Corolla one day, I have started on the rust applications already.
bravo 35 Report post Posted September 15, 2009 I love this style. Not limited to VW's either although its generally agreed that that's where it started in it's current form, but all they did was copy the old rat rodders. Iron oxide or oiled steel finish FTW. Grant 4 Report post Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) It is a plain boring B5 1.8T, but with a manual gearbox. I have not seen it for a week, it is getting a mechanical makeover. I am leaving the exterior scruffy, as I am a tight ass, and park it in a dodgy area downtown (amongst the homeless people) for work to avoid paying for parking. I figure, that the way it looks it is not a theft target. I even gave away the fancy 17" wheels that came with it and put on standard 16" OEM rims. I paid nothing for the car, and it has been rather reliable, and goes pretty well considering it has a small engine with only a mini turbo. Apex 693 Report post Posted September 15, 2009 To far.. that’s beyond Rat, that’s Cindy Lauper reincarnated as a Golf.
