What glue to use? High Temp. E30 Lights

Recommended Posts

Oh bugger. After putting my headlights back in, this bit here ended up falling off. Just put the bulbs in before and then it dropped off.

Since it reaches High Temps, what glue should I use?

Anyone suggestions?

It wouldnt melt? Cos these heat up pretty fast. That arildite is expensive though. Guess its worth a try...its good though, we used it on the fridge on one of the little nobby bits that hold the plastic trays on the door....never broke again even while pushing on it.

Something that seals too.. They need to be sealed properly or the lenses will fog up and have condensation all inside them.

Just used some sealant mum got from her work ages ago. Made sure it was fully covered & dry before reinstalling. If it doesnt seal good & get condensation, I will just pull apart again, clean it up & get another glue. Just dont have the $ until payday to buy anything so just used the sealant stuff. Hope it works. Fingers crossed :L

Can always reglue it another day. But thanks for the suggestions guys. :)

Yea they dont look practical, have to glue every time you change the bulbs? :s

Mines an 89 325i

Edit: just realised you may have pulled the bulb housing completely off? instead of unscrewing the back piece?

Oh nah. I know what you mean. The part that broke off, is meant to stay there. And you twist a plastic bit that the cable goes thru which pops off and the bulb then slides in the middle as you can see it popping out in the front. Will get some photos tomorrow.

Also, are those blue plugs you can see, for spotlights? They not very long though.
