'the babies on the floor, and at this stage it isn't moving' No sh*t! it just got dropped a metre!!

I think some humans must give birth standing up :P would explain a few things!

Poor baby elephant, cute thou.. No wonder it took ages to breathe it did just fall a meter onto hard concrete and to then kick it? Interesting thou

Well it's just like any mammal birth, breathing takes a while to start in some cases and require a little help. Just like how human doctors hold new borns upside down and shake, or, spin them around gently so their legs don't rip off from the shaking. Have had to do it to lambs a few times. We lost a few good legs though.
