Cant put a switch in the heady.not to sure if this wold work, but couldnt you just put a switch in the remote wire going from head unit to amp?
Shady 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2009 Yeah thats what you do. I will just have that going to the blank in the dash.
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted November 8, 2009 Your AMP should power on via the REM wire (usually BLUE), which is a 12v wire from the headunit. So when the headunit turns on, it powers the amp on too. If it Stays on, you probably haven't wired it up correctly..
Shady 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2009 Amp turns off when headunit and/or the car are off. But what I mean, is if I dont want bass (very rarely lol) and just want treble, I have to turn the sub right down to -0 on the headunit. I'd rather a switch where you just flick it & it turns the amp off. Flick it back and the amp comes back - no touching the heady.
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted November 8, 2009 Ahhh I see what you mean now. It isn't too hard to chop out the middle on a blanking plate and stick a switch in it, then wire it in your rem wire.
