tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 If you powdercoat the bolts won't you have trouble redoing them up as the thread will be coated in paint? Also would the tool required to do up the bolts cause damage to the paint? Slightly OT as this thread has gotten a bit longer..... Can they not be anodized to give them color and a decent hard wearing finish ?
Forrest 35 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 I like where this is going. Silver RS's as per pic with wider lips. Done. Don't over do it. Subtleness is key in my book.

togate 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) 16's are the biznuss. I still got my 16x9 RS' with poo brown centres. Your E30's gonna look hot once you get the new lips. What size tyres are you going to run? Edited February 15, 2010 by Togate
l0w320 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 id say just leave them silver and see how they look on the car (for now) give it a couple weeks if u still dont like the silver then do black or gold centres with black wheel studs just my 2c
Lucan 196 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Currently have 215/40 on the 16x9s and 205/45 on the 16x7.5 on my fitted wheels that are for sale. So probably just swap em over once the refurbs done if they don't sell in time? They rear tyres are already stretched so same size, the fronts aren't stretched but will be haha I can't wait... SIR E30 68 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Im thinking polished to hell lip and "one shade darker than silver grey" centres. OR Matt black lips and anodized red centres... subtle or insane, you chose! What offsets will you end up with?

antony 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 What is the original offset and width of the BBS RS's? And what will be the end offset and width of them? Thanks Antony.

westy 614 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Gold. So much 80s' cocaine style.
Lucan 196 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Orignal BBS not reps...widths were 7.5 and 8.5 Cant remember the offsets will measure up when i get home. Flat backs so they've been redrilled to 4x100 and i need some hubcentric rings.. If theres such thing..."Original" 4x100 in these sizes would cost you your E30 haha
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 good luck with widening the RS's, you might find this artical handy if you havent seen it already, http://the-polisher.tripod.com/id6.html 2x 3" lips in the mail Where did you end up ordering the lips from? Lucan 196 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 Nah hadn't seen that before, had something similar bookmarked but that's a lot better cheers! Ordered the lips through a guy in Germany, think he sells on eBay as well but i found him through the guy who sold me the wheels. Will post further updates in my Showroom section.
