BMW 318IS SR20DET conversion

Just started my conversion about 2 month ago now :)

brought a fully rebuild sr20det and started doing the conversion

List of jobs to be carried out on BMW/sr20det.

1. remove complete front of car for motor removable and fabrication

2. remove motor and gear box

3. hydro blast engine bay

4. cut and weld unwanted tabs and brackets

5. prep and paint engine bay

6. hydro blast motor and box

7. fab. motor mounts (2)

8. fab. trans mounts

9. fab. drive shaft

10. fab. drive safty hoops (2)

11. fab. sr-20det t3-4 long runner exhaust manifold/ v-band w/g port

12. sort turbo / waste gate

13. fab. down pipe

14. fab. wast gate plum back set up

15. remove old fuel lines

16. fab. exhaust system

17. fab. new fuel lines

18. sort fuel pump / mod in tank mount

19. sort intercooler / mount

20. fab. intercooler piping / bov

21. fab. air intake pipe / pod filter set up

22. fab. breather tanks

23. install rocker stoppers

24. prep / paint / install valve cover

25. fab. throttle cable

26. sort and fit bmw manaul pedal box

27. sort and mount clutch master

28. fab. clutch line bmw to sr

29. fab bmw to sr computer mounting brackets

30. re wire bmw to nissan enginr loom

31. sort / fab. bmw to sr power steering lines

32. sort / /fab. turbo oil and return lines

33. sort alloy rad and fab. muonts to chassis

Wow, that's crazy. So many skilled fabricators popping up on BS at the moment.

I'm a noob, but that turbo looks pretty massive. What's your power goal?

It should easily get 280KW with the set up :)

I will post once dyno has been done

Looks good man. What was the sr20det out of and what turbo are you running? Looks to be a tidier transplant than mine :)

From a s14 silvia black top sr20det :) it came with this goodies

- polished oem pistons with new ring sets

-shotpeened oem rods with ARP studs

-ACL race series big end and main bearings

-polished crankshaft

-3 layer steel headgasket.

-3 way valve cut on in and ex valves

-new front and rear main seals

Turbo is master power has been modified so it would spool much faster :)

Mint! I prefer Jap motors any day. Just a shame they cant make a better all round car thats as good as BMW's tho.

Yes it use to be red now its pearl black now :)

I need new wheels :(

Remember to use a S14 N/A throttlebody if your rocking that standard intake plenum.

N/A ones are bigger ;)
