More broken noises.

Recommended Posts

some words of advice - Don't buy motors off trademe, unless you know you can trust them.

f**king heap of sh*t.

Dunno what's wrong here, But just more stuff to add to the long list of sh*t wrong with it <.<

Noise only comes when the Engine is warmed up, Seems to come from the front?

Any ideas would be appreciated... Need to go pull the rocker cover.. Hmm.

It's also not the alternator belt. (psteer is not connected, AC is removed)

I say remove valve cover. Pin point where it's coming from. Checked fluid levels?

Pity you aren't in Wellington or I'd be getting that thing scanned...

Doesn't appear to be any loose bits of metal or broken stuff under the rocker cover.....

Right well, I whipped the alternator belt off (so the fan wouldn't work)

but since there was no waterpump I diddn't let it heat up diddn't want to risk f**king something.

Diddn't seem to make as much noise as the 15min startup earlier with the belt on...

Could it possibly be the Cambelt tensioner which is only a few weeks old? (a dud maybe?)

based on experience, my moneys on the fan clutch. would say waterpump too but you replaced it eh. had a mates mates E30 have the same thing and a new fanclutch and waterpump and it made it go away.

I think it might be the cambelt tensioner.... because if you listen closely to around that area (above the alternator) it's the loudest.

It's only 3 weeks old if that. grr.
