antil33t 90 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Has anyone had experience reparing this type of thing before? It's some form of plastic, and not fibreglass.... Someone already had a go at fixing it, but the resin didn't stick. Any advice? I haven't had it on the car in so long I may aswell get some proper advice before paying someone else <.<
Lucan 196 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 When I fixed my I.S lip I used Norski polyester resin, worked/sticks fine Sand roughly before applying resin and glass (on the back obviously)...used the resin to fill in the cracks in the front after the glass had set, sanded, skimmed with bog to smooth out before more sanding, primer, paint, Done. antil33t 90 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Sweet as, I did get a quote ages ago to have the crack fixed, was like 70 bucks just to weld it though. I may aswell clean up all this resin before taking it back... Thinners seems to work slowly, anything else that might work?

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Prepsol is pretty good. Is it warped in any way? It doesn't look too bad, Just needs something behind it to pull it back into line then just sand down and fill off the front side. Save yourself some $$
antil33t 90 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Nah, it's not warped in any way, it's just there's resin cloging where the plastic should line up. Would go on an errand tomorrow, but have first aid course all day D: I'll see what I can do over the weekend. This is helping me get motivation to work on the actual car hahah.
