Hiya !

Fell in love with this beauty and surrendered my 323i almost immediately. :P .

It's manual 5 speed sedan and I was told it's one of those limited edition produced in South Africa between 1996-1998 but I cannot find precise information as I read somewhere the sedan production ended in Dec 1997. I was hoping to find some brochures for this particular model but one I saw on Trade me was sold. :( Anyway, attached some pics and great to join the club !

You might want to update your profile to say where you are from, it makes it easier in the future if we are going to recommened you to a workshop or meets etc.

Hi Mike- E36 and AJ_D and BBS:

Ha ha ha, yes I shall wait for the next 10,20,30 payday ?? and drop the engine into the sea :P

AJ D - Actually that's a good question. I must admit I am by no means up to date with cars except I know it drives extremely well and I love it to bits. Apart from the title, reading the internet and learning that way, and through the previous owenrship papers, yes, how can one tell if it is M44 indeed. I am kinda curious now.Would there be anywhere physical on the engine that I may identify and confirm it's an M44? Cheers

Like the wheels. Thats the style I want for my Compact.

All I can see to do is dye and condition the seats before they wear more.

the m44 is a good motor but a repower is on my list as well as a manual conversion when the funds permit.

Hi everyone !

Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome.

Hey , I don't get offended easily and honestly I am here to learn.. Bottom line is , I TRULY enjoy driving in my new ride and that's all that matters :) I know it's not the flashiest of the M range, but I'm happy ! :)

:) Give me a good reason to go to work !

Hehe, it seems I have hit a few nerves.

Sorry but I just don't get the logic of a nice looking BMW like this having one of those yawn-ish 4 cylinders, a BMW should be at least a 2.0L six, preferably bigger.

Aside from my opinion though, it's one of the nicer looking 4 door E36's I have seen in some time. :)
