APT 189 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 Haha ive seen that pic nathan didnt know whether to believe it or not. I reckon it can look pretty awesome with the right colours to match the car even without super wide lips, as long as you can get the right stance it should look mint.. Cheers guys keep em coming. JiB 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 I always wanted delphin barrels with green centres and green pin-stripe to match the cage in my old coupe. That scheme might work with blue?

Forrest 35 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 ^ IMO don't have too much black or they will get lost in the guards along with your dark blue paint. Your decision though, will look great regardless. I am starting to pull mine apart tomorrow, can't wait.
APT 189 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 Let me know of your 'technique' on seperating them are you going to put them in the oven to heat them up before hand ?
Forrest 35 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) ^ Heatgun and a rubber mallet. I have read about 100 DIY threads online. Edited June 23, 2010 by Brams
VeeDub 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 ^ Heatgun and a rubber mallet. I have read about 100 DIY threads online. You'll find that you might not get the centre out like that unless you're lucky. If you have a tyre lying around, place the rim face down on the tyre (put a towel or something soft on the ground underneath). Get a bit of 4x2 or long piece of timber and ram it into the centre downwards through the tyre and onto the soft object. Take care and start soft, i've found that the most effective way to get the centres out. Oven and rubber mallet for lips works fine.
Forrest 35 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 ^ Yip had read that also. Cheers mate
Guest Simon* Report post Posted June 23, 2010 ^ IMO don't have too much black or they will get lost in the guards along with your dark blue paint. Worse than that, black lips will appear to merge with the tyre. You'll look like you're running 12" rims with huge balloon tyres. The lip has to stand out from the tyre to give that BBS-step-illusion of a bigger size rim. Lighter, brighter = better. Do wtf you want with the centres
Guest Simon* Report post Posted June 23, 2010 Example: Squint your eyes and tell me this doesn't look like stupid clown tyres
Lucan 196 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 Don't do black lips, although the murdered RS's look cool, these aren't for a show car now are they? as soon as a little brake dust gets on the lips....
