e30ftw 410 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 How does the front drive belt go on? I have tried it every way I can think of and it's loose as f*ck, tensioner pulley does nothing. I only pulled it off cos It was too tight to fit around the PS pump so took the whole thing off to start from scratch.

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Ok, so how do you put it on that way? I can't get it around all 4 pulleys + the middle one, let alone the tensioner too. Edited July 1, 2010 by e30ftw
Jono51 59 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 take the little plastic cover off the tensioner pulley the rest is pretty much self explainitory
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 if you brought it from repco, thier catalouge lists the wrong belt. you need either the one size bigger or the one size smaller. At least that happened to me
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) Whats the easiest way to get it on? Reset the tensioner position, put the belt on and release the tensioner...not hard to do Edited July 2, 2010 by *Glenn*

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 Ooops..that should have been a reply... not an edit... sorry John I couldn't get it over the 4 pulleys then across over the middle one and that was with the tensioner off. Maybe the pump isn't on properly or something.. Don't see how though.
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 Have you loaded the tensioner so that it can tension the belt once it's released ?
