antil33t 90 Report post Posted August 5, 2010 Yeah I know, I bought it ages ago. But I'm kinda waiting for the Sirocco they've promised to put in. Gonna use one of my old E30 seats for a sim seat
pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2010 if you want the best out of your gt physics, get gt3 get a mazda mx5. wank it up, 2way lsd, set up the suspension reasonably rigid, turn all aids off leave it on sports tyres and go drift. the drifting is amazingly real. Driftit 2078 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 I thaught NFS shift handled like crap. abeit, I only played the PC version, with both a keyboard and a wheel. Anyone tried LFS? haha Yeah I thought so too. I tried it with both a G25 and Xbox 360 controller on PC. And the drifting was just horrid. Was actually a different physics setting for the drifting part of the game. Is a good step in the right direction for the NFS franchise though. Couldn't stand those FNF style games. RFactor2 is coming out soon. Once again it won't be on par in the graphics department. But it will be far superior in the physics and sim area. If you want some sim fun should head down to Hyper Stimulator with some mates. http://www.hyperstimulator.co.nz/gallery.html Would love one of those machines at home. A theme can be selected, with the Belgian High Fens or Toscana two examples, and the individual track sectors are then defined. Sectors are edited individually, with frequency of curves, sharpness of corners, degree of topography and banking angle are set with a series of sliders. Yamauchi created one for the purpose of the demo, a 10km run through the Belgian High Fens. It was sparse but not without sparkle, with rolling hills and fields and the occasional environmental feature like a small village giving it the feeling of a long and winding country road. Driftit 2078 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 Physics are supposed to be incredible in this latest build. Will have to wait and see. But if it is true and they don't push out the bloody release date again I may look at a PS3. Will have to get a wheel though as the PS3 controller is horrid. Apex 693 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 The weighted dual shock III is not bad, throttle and brake control via R2 and L2 have improved, would like to see a six-axis integration with the toggle’s, would be nice. Still, a new wheel would be nice, at $500+ for a decent one they are not cheap. I need a new TV for the living room to take advantage of the new graphics. Wonder if you can go carting with amongst real sized cars, would be fun on a tight track
fuzyfrog 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) PS3 controller is miles better than the horrible 360 one but you really do need a wheel. Driving Force GT's will most likely get a price drop in November. Also release date is locked. They have never actually announced a release date before so its never really been delayed. I played the last build and even then the physics were different to the Time Trial demo they released and miles ahead of Prologue. Edit... Real GT players use the D Pad Well Kazunori who makes the game said he still uses the D pad when not using a wheel. I find im a few seconds a lap faster in GT4 using the pad instead of the analog sticks. Edited August 19, 2010 by fuzyfrog

Apex 693 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 Real GT players use the D Pad Well Kazunori who makes the game said he still uses the D pad when not using a wheel. I find im a few seconds a lap faster in GT4 using the pad instead of the analog sticks. Im glad you said that, im still stuck with X and SQUARE and the D-Pad on GT games, more because throttle modulation was always difficult, it’s much better on newer games like Shift These new wheels are quite bloody good though with really nice weighted feedback, it’s the throttle, brake and clutch feel I would like. Top Secret 2 Report post Posted August 19, 2010 Can't wait for it. Annoyingly enough it's being released right in the middle of my exams. Physics in GT5:P sh*t all over the likes of Shift and Forza 2/3. I play using a G25 (at a mates), which I think is essential for a game like this. Not everyone can spend $500+ for a cockpit, but you can get a secondhand 900deg Logitech Driving Force Pro off trademe for under $100, and these are still widely used in the sim racing world. I've got one here and I rate it.
fuzyfrog 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2010 Driving Force GT retails for $249 i think. Got mine two years ago for $199. Forza 3's handling is setup for fun. Its not even close to being an accurate sim.
cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted August 20, 2010 The hype machine is in full force i see the pre-released pics in all the previous 3-4(inc prologues) GT's have always looked far better than on release day I'm gonna wait for and see what sort of acurate reviews it gets before shelling out the $
