dubman 39 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 Classy. Did you find the easy way to wire up the tweeters? nope, the car wasnt wired for tweeters, or the wires werent where they were supposed to be. This is a timely process, as you have to be careful whilst pulling the wires through, you'll need a wire with its tip bent into a lobe shape, so you can put the wires inside the lobe and pull it through the rubber ducts that contains the electric mirror wires. I would recommend buying a good quality tweeter package with quality wires, as you can snap the connector tips off or the copper inside the wires. dubman 39 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 Been ages since anything significant has happened with this car, but started doing the bushing replacement, so time for an update! Full set of 80sha bushes. Removed old bushing with a hammer and chisel Pressing in the new ones (m3 eccentric, took my time lining up the markings) Replaced rack ends and tie rod, the rack end was a b*tch to take out (mainly due to lack of tools and maneuverability) Started getting dark, so re-installed control arms to make tomorrow's job easier Shoved everything back into the garage, and called it a day After today, newfound appreciation for BFH's and WD-
tire 10 Report post Posted May 27, 2012 It's gon' drive nice! I've heard those rack ends can be a pain

dubman 39 Report post Posted May 28, 2012 took it for a spirited drive. Handles like new when driving normally, no more thuds or clunks over speedbumps/braking/rough road. Shimmy was gone, absolutely MINT on the motorway @100km/h, very responsive steering. A small twitch and the car's eager to turn. During turns at higher speeds, the car just feels stable, and the return to center is great, doesn't jerk, just nicely comes back to it. Mark: the ride is ok, the ride was already terrible from the worn bushes. The vibrations from the road is a little more noticable, but road noise did not significantly increase. Thank god i was sensible and didn't go the for "race" 90sHa All in all, nothing THAT spectacular, drives better than my moms '04 Civic, but apart from being sharper, not much of a big leap Next on the list: New top strut mounts (very noticeable play) Sort out the soft brakes Find Bilsteins for my H&R's Rear bushes replacement in Spring

Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Sort out the soft brakes PS not a real e30 if it hasnt got soft (or no) brakes. lol exactly what I was thinking, what are you planning to do? I got SS braided lines all round, hi comp fluid etc in the sedan and brakes dont feel that much better to be honest haha
dubman 39 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 that makes me feel better about mine At this stage, probably will just stick with a quality fluid and OEM pads tbh, won't do anything until a re-power
slowe30 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 lol exactly what I was thinking, what are you planning to do? I got SS braided lines all round, hi comp fluid etc in the sedan and brakes dont feel that much better to be honest haha ive got decent fluid, stainless lines, 944 porshe brake booster (to clear m52), fancy and new pads all round and rx7 front calipers and still has a soft pedal for a bit then is fairly solid and bites from there. does anyone know if theres any bushes in the brake pedal setup that goes across to the other side of the car? i think there may be some play comming from there. brakes are noticlbly better than what they used to be but not sure if the old ones were just useless
