Possibilities

Recommended Posts

Hi team,

I've had a once in a lifetime offer from a good friend - Work Meister 3 piece wheels, brand new in blanks with some CRAZY fitment for cheap as chips.

18x9 ET10 and 18x11 ET-5

The ET10 I'm not worried about, but 11 inch rears in negative 5!!??? Wow, mission to fit on a lot of cars. So my question is for anyone with 3 piece wheel experience or with wide wide wheel experience.

a) What would need to be done to fit them on as is?

B) Is the offset determined by the barrel? And if so, what would be needed to bring the width and offset down to something that would fit.

Basically I'm trying to justify if these wheels are feasible at all. And I really want to justify them as I've been dreaming of Work Meisters forever.

Heres a shop someone else did in the typical black/polished lip setup:

And another in white:

What does the back of the centre look like? Could always machine a bit off the back. Doubt 10mm would make it any easier though.

Barrel and lip width both contribute to the offset, changing either will make a difference.

You'll be wanting to make the lip smaller, not the barrel, for a higher offset.

= less dish.

Just get a GTR widebody :P

Just get them!

If they're such a good deal, what's the worst you have to do - on sell them?

You know you want to.

That's kind of where my mind is at this point but I would love to actually use them.

If about 17x8 et20 sit about flush.

8 inches=203.2mm / 2 =101.6

101.6 + 20 =131.6mm back space

101.6 - 20 =81.6mm of wheel will stick out from the hub

For your front wheel 18x9 et10

9 inches=228.6 / 2 =114.3

114.3 + 10 =124.3mm back space

114.4 - 10 =104.3mm of wheel will stick out from the hub

For your rear wheels 18x11 et-5

11inches=279.4mm / 2=139.7

139.7 + (-5) = 134.7 back space

139.7 - (-5) = 144.7 of wheel will stick out from the hub

I've shown working so people can correct any mistakes i've probably made

bbs, that the exact sort of thing what I was after you legend you.

I know there will be panel work involved in fitting them on the rear, but I wanted to measure up roughly how much they will Mexipoke and make an educated decision (well as educated as I could get) on the matter.
