320I 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2010 I did something stupid, the side skirt on the car has a broken clip where it was slightly damaged on its way to NZ, anyway I used a bit of duct tape to secure it to the car, I forgot about it and today I was cleaning inside the doors and realized water had got under the tape, now I have rust! Its just inside the passenger door and it seems to be surface rust, I hope it isn't really bad, but I have never had rust on my car before so I'm unsure, is there something I can do now to prevent it getting worse? or is it too far gone? Mark 178 Report post Posted September 21, 2010 Looks pretty minor. Just sand back to bare metal, prime it, and paint it. If it's hidden under a sideskirt, the quality of finish won't matter too much.
