Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted October 2, 2010 Just out of curiosity, what happens now? Does one take their car into the dealer for a new one or do they just repair the fault?
hybrid 1044 Report post Posted October 2, 2010 Yeah, phone up a BMW dealer of choice and the carry out the work under the recall. They claim back to BMW NZ then onto BMW AG

M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) Just called Jeff Gray BMW service wellington. Jeff from the service department checked my car in their computer which hooks to BMW Germany for any service recalls and said their is nothing outstanding for my car. He stated the recall is for US / UK vehicles only as they are aware. Anyone get any other information? Edited October 3, 2010 by M5V8
Palazzo 479 Report post Posted October 3, 2010 The article states "globally, about 348000 cars are affected" and it would defy belief that NZ/Japanese models on their own are somehow built differently and therefore unaffected.
M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 3, 2010 I agree however the best concession I could gather from him was that IF NZ cars are included in the recall we would be contacted.
