what is the point of doing it on the cheap?

everyone thats says it, redoes their car 6months later saying i should have bought the more expenive bit which would last longer and say you money in the long run.

6000g. same as andys comment.

$6000 at least!

engine management $1400 + (for a good one)

turbo $ 300 - 1000 (for a good one)

intercooler $ 300 - 500 (for a good one)

manifold $ up to $800 depending on what its made from

now you have to decompress your engine can you do this or do you need to pay someone to do it??? (btw andy and anyone else doing this theres a shop in paraparaumu that will make a head gaskit you your specs cheap)

so there you are your up around 3- 4000 already and the work hasnt even started...

exhaust ... intercooler plumbing ... wiring ... blaa blaa blaaaa

but hey if you want to do it good luck im sure there are lots of people on here that would help you on the way.

you know you could just put a 13b in it ... haha

I'm not so sure i'd bother with lowering the compression using a head gasket - the compression is pretty low any way 8.8:1 .
