Ben 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2010 Im thinking about replacing my discs soon and looking at using larger E46 328i discs and carriers. If I just change the fronts (300x22mm vs 286x22mm) will there be any major problems with brake bias?
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted October 4, 2010 I was thinking of doing this on my next E36. Apparently its best to do the rears too, did some reading around the other night.
thorburn 121 Report post Posted October 4, 2010 If you are going bigger why not just go 330 brakes You should match the brake bias to the traction the tyres are getting. So tyre size and compound, spring rate, weight distribution, dampening, body structure, etc should be considered.

From what Ive read I think Id need the 330i calipers as well though I wont be thrashing the car except for the odd track day I can make it to. Going bigger for more of a cosmetic reason. Just wondering If the brakes are going to be all screwy if Ive only gone bigger on the front, (will change the rear eventually)
