39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 Love this footage seen it a few times. Just a 3 minute tussle between these two great drivers. Enjoy Bathurst this weekend, I haven't watched bathurst since 92 when Tony Longhursts B&H M3 was doing the rounds.
westy 614 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 Yeah it's a good clip. VK's one of my favourite Commodores.
M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) I wouldn't exactly call it "the daylights beaten out of him" as commented on the video but surely some impressive driving by both....sadly such close clean racing isn't seen too much anymore. Gotta love the outside pass... Edited October 7, 2010 by M5V8

39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 Gotta love the little bimmer only half the cylinders of the Holden, would it of been a 2.7L?
westy 614 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 But it's not a Ford Tony? Ima quote you here Arg Ford vs Holden sh*t. Not a bad effort for a big heavy car on a tight little circuit.

Apex 693 Report post Posted October 7, 2010 There wasn’t a huge weight difference believe it or not, power to weight they were near on par and the VK wasnt a big car. Great driving from Brock in the VK there, that was a great car, maybe the last year the commodores were truly competitive.
Jacko 2158 Report post Posted October 8, 2010 Its a pity that bathurst isnt what it used too be. Same cars, in different clothes, racing each other has way less appeal.
Apex 693 Report post Posted October 8, 2010 It’s easy to get romantic about yesteryear but we quickly forget about the years in the series that were pathetic to watch due to dominant cars, today its more about teams and drivers than it was back then and at the end of the day that is what sport is about, there will always be plenty of drama on the mountain and we will always enjoy the day. In saying that I would love to see some GT3 cars in there to mix it up a bit.
