E30 325i touring f/s

Recommended Posts

Engine & Transmission:

- South African M20B25.
- Fresh 10w40 elf competition oil and filter.
- Cambelt replaced in March, along with waterpump, tensioner, rocker cover gasket, half moon seals, water pump gasket, and genuine BMW coolant. Valve clearances were also set. All done by Botany Motor Worx, with Parts from Euro - Italian.
- Distributor cap, distributor rotor, intake elbow, rocker cover vacuum hose and throttle body gaskets replaced (new) in March, along with a good 2nd hand ignition coil.
- New clutch, release bearing, spigot bearing fitted in April, along with fresh clutch fluid and gearbox fluid (Elf). Flywheel and pressure plate were machined and balanced at the same time. Flywheel was conservatively lightened to 6.8kgs by Balancing Specialists. Gearbox is a reconditioned G260.
- Short shifter with new shift cup.
- New gearbox rubber mounts.
- Elf competition semi - synthetic 10w40 oil has always been used for oil changes while I have had the car. I believe a lot of the E30 race series cars use the same stuff, it certainly isn't cheap.
- New century battery fitted in June. 3 years warranty I believe.
- New sump gasket (urethane, not leaky cork type).
- New rear main seal.
- Reconditioned altenator fitted last week.
- New engine bay fuel hoses.
Apart from the flywheel the engine is totally standard and completely up to date with maintenance. It runs very well, pulls very well and has never gone anywhere near overheating.

Suspension/Brakes/Steering:

- New front textar pads (OEM quality +) and near new front brembo vented rotors fitted this month.
- Brake fluid fully purged, replaced and bled this month.
- New front brake hoses.
- Handbrake adjusted in July.
- New control arms (with new ball joints) fitted earlier in the year with urethane bushes. These made a remarkable difference to the steering feel. This car does not have the vague and imprecise feel that tends to plague a lot of other E30s.
- Steering rack replaced earlier in the year with a good 2nd hand one. No leaks. Good tie rod ends. PS fluid is new.
- Voigtland lowering springs in the back and 4cylinder king springs in the front.
- Recently aligned at centreline

Interior:

- Clotch recaro sports seats.
- 10 stack CD changer.
- Pioneer front speakers.
- M-tech 1 steering wheel.
- New leather shift gaiter.
- Check control.
- Electric 2-way sunroof.
- Electric front windows.
- Air conditioning. Blows cold.
- Could use a new gear knob. I am looking for one.
- Remote central locking, immobiliser and alarm. The central locking works perfectly on all the doors except the hatch, for which you have to use they key.
- The top inner bolster on the passenger seat is worn.

Exterior:

- 35% tints with 4 1/2 years warranty still left.
- SE side skirts.
- Genuine iS front lip.
Paint is pretty good all over. I believe the front guards and bonnet were re-cleared by HellBM when they owned the car. Colour is sterlingsilber.

The 16x8 ET12 4x100 Alpina replica wheels shown are not included in price. $1000 extra will own them. The car will come on 14" basket weaves with loads of tread.

The car has been fitted with a modified exhaust. It is rather loud and I am not totally happy with the sound. I will leave it on and the new owner can decide whether they want to keep it or for me to fit the original one.

Registration till May 2011, wof till end of Feb.

Price is $8500

Ok before I get any more pms about the wheels, they are not for sale until the car is sold, unless you want to give me oh, I don't know... $1600. After the car sells they will obviously be cheaper if they don't go with it.

Oh and thanks for all the nice comments :)

Thanks for that, fixed. Also added it has remote central locking / alarm / immobiliser.

For the trademe ad, do people think I should tone down the amount of info?

nope, the more info the better in my opinion, and the photos speak for themselves!

I agree.

It annoys me when im looking at a car on trademe and theres not much info. Makes it seem like the seller doesnt know his car.
