Tristan 338 Report post Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Cheers Andy. Na, silver and white are different. White is painted on, whereas silver is left as the bare aluminium underneath Edit: I'll edit the main post as well. qube 3570 Report post Posted November 15, 2010 So im just wondering, arent german plates still illegal to be put on nz cars? especially if they're gonna be ones like black background with white or silver lettering?
Tristan 338 Report post Posted November 15, 2010 Yes and let's put this discussion to sleep.
qube 3570 Report post Posted November 15, 2010 ah, sorry about that i thought maybe there was some development in that area. (maybe legalized or something.. damn wishful thinking) gosh, havnt been on bs for a while now. so much to read so little time
Tristan 338 Report post Posted November 15, 2010 Haha all good. Yeah there was a bit've argument in the last group buy thread about that. But no, still illegal. Oh well
qube 3570 Report post Posted November 15, 2010 haha fair enough.. but think about it this way.. pplates from nz - $800+ german plates normally $180? you guys paid $50? so you have anything between 130~750 saved on a pair of plates that can fund a possible future (but hopefully non-existent) ticket fine. joshnz 2 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Oh, sweet as. Can't be too far away then .. ? FedEx delayed updates? Delayed + you can't really update it and say its currently flying over such and such country Next update will probably be Shipped from ... and landed in Auckland
Tristan 338 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Delayed + you can't really update it and say its currently flying over such and such country Next update will probably be Shipped from ... and landed in Auckland The last set of tracking details from them was really specific which is why I was wondering. It said the 3 other countries (?) they went through on the way here and its arrival and departure etc.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2136 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 true but it listed about 3 of those country steps at once

Filter_nz 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2010 Do people not get pulled over by the police with these? the font is different. I'm guessing the plates with the black fern etc that closely match the kiwi ones might slip by but surely people are getting pulled over? The whole plate issue is rubbish anyway. I watched the nz highway patrol show (the one with Jono from the rock doing the voice overs) and they'd pulled a riced up import over for a sticker number plate on this bodykit. Looked ok but he got a ticket... that said, had the BMW in for a wof last week and they passed the MX5 in front of my with a sticker plate!! A friend of mine driving maserati gt and he gets away with a sticker plate too. *sigh* I want to upgrade my pplate but $299!!! such a rip!
_ethrty-Andy_ 2136 Report post Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) Its been said more than once in this thread, please do not discuss the legalities or illegalities of these plates here in other news, Plates are in NZ, i should get them tomorrow which means they will be sent monday Edited November 25, 2010 by _Ethrty-Andy_
