Auckland Exhaust Guru

Hey

Who in Auckland knows their stuff re getting an exhaust system to sound better. I got a 2.5l straight six ( old school non BMW I confess) with twin system straight pipes through to rear mufflers ( in mint condition). Sounds great when your above 4000rpm but below that it's pretty nana.

I don't want it too loud and I don't need better performance really just want a good resonance / crackle. Who in Auckland knows is smart / can think outside the box as far as exhausts go. I'd probally take it to Woof on Dom Road - but only cause it's close

cheers Rob

My experience with Als wasnt good. Their welders had moved on and replaced with kids. Woolfe is the best by far as theyre a great price and have high range to low range stock (to suit your budget). Theyve always looked after me.

^ Also had pretty average service from Al's.

Pit stop in Albany are pretty on to it, and easy to deal with.

Pit stop in Albany have been awesome, the guy that used to run it did my 335 turbo exhaust so I recommended them to a friend after he went from twin to single turbo (GTR).

They have however changed hands since then.

I watched the new crew butcher his exhaust and leave it scraping and banging everywhere, and overcharge him to boot. Then in an attempt to rectify it they just made it even worse by heating it up and bending it everywhere they could instead of just cutting it and re-welding it.

Not saying anything either way just my experience!

I was about to say the same thing.

Very unimpressed with Als service, crappy welds etc.

Avoid.

The guys at Woolf are the way to go.

Call Tim at TTT on 0212671793, say Chris sent you and he'll do you a deal on a nice exhaust.

He gets his materials from woolf, so its all mandrel bent etc, but does all the fabrication himself (and he's good)

Woolf did my E39 530. Took out both mufflers, replaced with freeflow and a straight pipe where the other one was. Sounds great, fair price and excellent service, before and after sale (I had to go back to have the diffuser sanded back an inch to fit the double exhaust better.
