Advice needed.

I have an E36 motorsport coupe. I just got some M3 style wing mirrors for it. The car is a Hellrot (red) colour. I was wondering what colour to paint the wing mirrors. Red so that they match the paintjob. Or black to bring out the black trim and blend in with the tinted windows. Any advice is warmly welcomed. Any pictures to support the advice is greatly appreciated.

When we had the car painted we went with black mirrors. We got black as it matched the cloth roof. I rather like them black and it would look good with red, also with your car if they paint them red they wont completly match as the original paint will have faded somewhat.

I painted the E36's Mirrors black so they kind of blend in with the tints.

Although mine's dark blue.

I would be painting them red if I were you. Black would just look wrong on red.

Mind you, I put rep m3 mirrors on my car and left them black. Only because my car is a really dark purple/blue/black so it looks good as gold.

Canterbury colours go black. I dont see that it would cost a lot to get these painted if you change your mind.

haha yeah thought you might say that. Elcheapo.. and yet you got the mirrors for looks only. Which ever colour you go with it will look good.

Personally I think red wing mirrors suit red cars better.

Here is a red on red with black trim (just ignore the roof).

Here is another with red side mirrors but the trim is also red if this helps.

Thanks a lot guys. I will be painting them red. Getting the paint tomorrow and the mirrors painted tomorrow evening hopefully. Should have it all done and on the car by next week. Will post some pictures when its finished.
