twisted 45 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 Hey All, Getting hitched in March, and naturally its been left up to me to sort the cars for the day. Missus likes classic jags (think MkII) and well me being me i cant really make up my mind between the missus' choice, something like a couple of XY GT replicas or Two black E34's (mine being one) The Girl isnt too fussed however. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions? Cheers Sam

elmarco 56 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 XY GT, XY GT!!.... You have to get something memorable for this kind of gig. We had a classic old Mercedes Pullman that belonged to Bruce Lee (apparently). That was Auckland though. Tried the local car clubs to see what is around and who is willing to do it? tony2657 5 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 A word from the wise... the wedding is all about her! If she wants Jags, give her Jags (unless you're a Westie in which case XY GTs. If you end up with cars she doesn't like, everytime she looks at those wedding photos she'll remind you of it . Note: The only problem with Mk2 Jags (I had one at my wedding) was there isn't much room in the back, so no way you could carry more than two without a squeeze. Good idea, you restore the Daimler while the missus organizes the seating plan and silverware.
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 I only had two things to worry about for my wedding - suits and the cars. So I went for a pair of E36 convertibles, one borrowed and one rented (this was back in 1999 so the E36 was current). They looked really good in the photos and were good fun to drive to the wedding and reception with the tops down. It all depends on how far you have to travel to and from the wedding - bride may not be too happy arriving for the photos with hair all over the place after a half hour 100kph thrash!
