How to beat car depreciation

Recommended Posts

Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.

He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!!

He was the oldest living owner of a car from new.

He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death. It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead

silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years)

How would one beat rising insurance premiums with an appreciating car?

Hope he had a lifetime quote from when he first got it..

So to beat car depreciation, keep it for the rest of your life...sounds simple enough? haha.

he didnt pay anything for it so he didnt suffer the depreciation. The selling price would have to cover all costs to tkeep the running for 80 odd years.

There is a guy in Auckland who has a 1930 (?) Studebaker roadster which he bought when he was 14. He is now 65 and still drives it! Actually the profile looks very similar - and they say modern cars all look the same!
