m325i 709 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 you'd just have to agree on the network, and we could real time chat. Or would it kill the forum?

Deftones 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 you are correct there Paul. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and is a protocol for using txt based chats where you can create rooms (these can be temporary or permanent) and chat away.. Kinda like MSN/ICQ, but in a public way. Be careful of dodgy folks that hang on public channels though as long as you don't accept any lollies or anything from that.. dodge. PS. It's free, and all you need to do is register a channel.. oh, and porn channels are plentiful as are file sharing channels..
kiwi535 538 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 the 5 series forum i go to has a chat room, bluechat seems to be the "program" whats that????
Carl 3 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 MSN Messenger and ICQ has IRC capability if i'm not mistaken, similar to chat rooms...I will assume blueroom would be something similar to these programs or a chat site like xtra had before that predater problem/scandal/scare they had. IRC = bad bad bad MSN messenger = the most annoying program microsoft ever made, thank god you can erase it completely from windows xp
Surge 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 IRC is fine, Never had any problems with it. It's great because it's running all the time and you can just talk to who ever is there. It in no way will make a dent in the forums, If anything compliment them.
