edbimmer 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Hi I noticed that that my car interior has a peeling problem, The plastic under the coating is silvery gray, so it's pretty obvious. On my car it is coming off the right hand spoke near the point where the rim and spoke meet. Same problem on the driver side door handle. I have Google and it seems to be a common issue with the E90 & E92 series. Has any one else come across this problem.

my_e36 43 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 Would have thought being a $100k car, wouldn't hurt to cast the metal looking bits in real metal as oppose to metal looking plastic. I would gladly pay extra $50 for that being actually metal, should be enough to cover the material?

Surge 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 I've got a grooming business, we see it on almost all euros. VW & Audi are the worst for it. If they just coloured the plastic, instead of painting black/grey plastic different colours... there would be no coating to come off.
bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 That sounds good, "Plan B" What would the cost be for a job like that? I would just buy a new piece if you dont want to repaint would be like around $100 or $200 to replace. Im about to replace the one on the E46 soon.. What would you paint it with? I've seen it done with this stuff called Plasti-dip, but I don't like the tacky surface it leaves behind.
