Jacko 2156 Report post Posted February 13, 2011 Wow is that nuts. Trying to work out how an MR2 box works on it???
Apex 693 Report post Posted February 13, 2011 From what I can figure the east west configuration gearbox works as a beefy transfer case as such, Toyota Windom gearboxes are popular also, im not technically mined enough to explain, best have a look at one and it would become clearer. Cool project.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 i used to know the guy that owns this he has had it for years. Is a very well known car in the 4x4 scene. Destroys everything ha. seems on the side of too much power from what ive seen, but im not a 4x4 expert. It used to run a Camry gearbox iirc, he must have destroyed it and put the MR2 one in. He has a 750iL he dailys too
deeveus 81 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 Looks tough, but I'm left wondering how much torque those MR2 gearboxes can take!
w_elliot 7 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 Looks tough, but I'm left wondering how much torque those MR2 gearboxes can take! not much... must have welded up the diff in it too obviously if hes doubling it as a transfer case. id like to see some undercar shots of that it's a pretty interesting idea.
