DIY for the Compact, I have ramps, jack-stands etc. Easy to do. Oil would be whatever been approved for use in BMWs, and in stock at the local Repco store. Fully synthetic. It's really not that hard to mess up on a RWD SOHC car. just read the guides lots and replace the fking camshaft seal. Cookies seem pretty good for parts, 24bucks for a genuine oil filter, cheaper than Repco, and have anti-drainback where the repco ones don't. rocker gasket, 20 bucks cheaper than appco. Job done right first time every time and if you strapped for $$$ helps you by sourcing good 2nd stuff if you need. i thought that he was overpriced, for a ball joint to be replaced he was going to charge me $180.00, so instead i took it to mikes mk motorsport and it was only $90. also the guys at constellation automotive just down from bellars are ok.
