nzhaystack 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 Hey Guys, Will be having a go at reinstalling my gearbox on the e30 tommrow. Just have a few little questions. Firtsly does the throw out bearing and clutch fork line up/go in like this? Also, i brought a new slave cylinder as my other was was f**ked, new one didnt come with a rod though so i ripped the rod out from the old one and pressed it into the new one, it seems to be pretty firmly in there but is there something else i need to do to secure it. tire 10 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 The metal clip holding your clutch fork on the left looks different to all the ones I've seen... Also, grease the spigot shaft a little, and the release bearing face. Good luck.

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 Make sure you are using the right driveshaft too. If it is slightly too long/short it isn't the right one. And as said, don't split it in half, but if you do, just make sure the faces on the universals line up. Found this out the hard way.
nzhaystack 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Gave the car a startup after the reinstallation, everything seems to be running sweet. Starter is engaging properly and gearbox is going into gear ok
