deeveus 81 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 With owning the diesel ML, I've only travelled about 500km in since buying a work hack about 3 months ago. This has meant I can maybe go petrol, can anyone offer any advice on the ML55? I could be keen to do a 4.6is again but the two for sale in NZ at the moment seem to be quite pricey. The ML's apparently go quite well, same engine as my old CLK-55 AMG

deeveus 81 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Yeah the ML I looked at was 32500, with 69kms, the cheapest 4.6is 35grand and has 157kms To be honest I'd prefer the X5 as I know them and I've owned a 4.6is before and IMO they look better and feel a bit better aswell. Greg111 13 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Ah you prob don't want the one we have then. Black 4.6is, 78KM, 20" alloys. $49,990. Haven't really given a lot of interest to the 4.6 but drove our one today and it goes really well! Makes all the right noises. Then there's the 4.8is which would be a bit more and use more gas etc etc.
deeveus 81 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Nah, I'm trying to spend that circa 30k mark this time around. Thanks anyways.
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 Should find yourself a G55AMG. Pretty much an ML with Landcruiser toughness. Not sold new here though. They have the newer supercharged motor. http://youtu.be/ZKcCS0jDFcc

Driftit 2078 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 What's the smilely face version of spew! hahaha functional is rarely pretty. And you would need a spew/cry emoticon for when it destroys you at the lights. Its sad that not many cars can touch this box on wheels in a straight line. my_e36 43 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 I am not sure about the rest of the cars but the brakes are hugely expensive to replace. Genuine AMG Pad and rotors for E55 are over $2000 per axle. I would imagine the ML's are similar if not more.
deeveus 81 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 Yes! My ML was quoted at 2700 at the dealership and it's not an AMG. When I sold my CLK-55 AMG the guy rang up six months later and some 10,000km later wanting me to pay for the brakes on his car which were quoted at 5k fitted!!! I can assure you, it wasn't a very lengthy conversation.
Hi-Tek 3 Report post Posted May 25, 2011 The G55AMG is my hero. Some much coolness rolled into one car. Certainly the nicest SUV on the planet.
