Tinting tail lights

Recommended Posts

I think that the majority of them look sh*t, but they can look really good when done lightly.

I'm thinking about doing a few light coats on mine, because I'm not sure about redded lights with my blue.

If my car was black I'd go for red for sure though.

The front indicators on facelift e30's look sex tinted in my opinion. Apart from that I hate them.

For all those above stating - I have done this or that, painted this or that colour, to this or that degree, the situation clearly relies on the WOF inspectors "subjective" or observant approach in inspecting the car for the WOF as to whether it fails or not. As per discussions in other recent threads here.

Getting away with it doesn't change the fact that the rules say - you can't! - You just haven't been noticed, or if so - held accountable

Wonder why this company is allowed to do it, even though its illegal.

I like all red tail lights on e30s, black has been killed.

I dont think it would have to be legal at all... same way they would put 5% tints on windows.

Exactly.

Also a good point, E30 indicators and tail-lights can be tough to see in some conditions already, so no reason to make it worse IMO.

(Overcast/rainy days where its hard to see other cars and you should have your lights on, you can barely tell my tails are on and its kinda scary lol)

Well good to see your sensible, personally i think the tinted tails do look rather tacky. Every ricer has them. Better than clears though :).

(Try get an m-tech kit and some less spindly wheels, then it'll look sweet ;))

haha yea! getting rid of those wheels is on the to-do list ..

yea maybe i wont tint them no more.

kinda seems silly now the more i think about it ..

I think, when done lightly, tinted tail lights on E30s look boss. Gangster Cefiro black, not quite. These were my inspiration for tinted tail lights done right.

The difference is those look like MHW tail lights, and are not tinted with a spray can ;)

Just googled MHW tail lights. Wow, they do look good, but are mighty expensive. Mine weren't done with a spray can though ;)
