E36ShoppingTrolley 7 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 Hey guys, so going to take off my old spoiler off my e30, but because it has been on there for so many years (it came new with car.) What is the best way to do this? Will it leave any marks/ faded paint or anything else that i should worry about? Cheers Nick

dubman 39 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 just take it off and see. there are screws inside the boot lid, directly below the spoiler. the paint under the spoiler will be newer, and there mite be some marks around the edges of the spoiler, nothing dramatic and too serious to fix with at home cleaning kits. why you taking it off? replacement, or for the hell of it? if it ain't broke.... E36ShoppingTrolley 7 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 Its just old. it has thousands of circle marks from years of curious people poking it because its spongey, the paints cracking and it doesnt look that great. its only a pfeba spoiler anyway. if i dont like the look of no spoiler, mtech 1 it is! E36ShoppingTrolley 7 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 Faded paint would be a for sure. would that just look silly? paints faded and mismatched anyways. im just worried it will look stupid on my red car. maybe i will need a replacement spoiler.

my_e36 43 Report post Posted June 12, 2011 If you are going to replace boot lid after taking off the spoiler, why not leave it there and exchange/sell the original? Save the trouble of removing it in the first place.
