E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted May 16, 2005 Big balls running a turb on a motor without a knock sensor. you'd expect a decent aftermarket ECU to be used to get 427hp, so one would assume a knock sensor would be installed (for those bad fuel nightmares), and one would have most certainly been used during tuning (if not, audible detection equipment would have been used ie. a stethoscope).But if it is tuned anything like most of the nuttie scandinavian HP monsters, it will be running so rich (bellowing black smoke) there would be no chance of detonation!!!
