stealing e36

Recommended Posts

Hi Y'all, my 'friend' has an e36 318S, She was working night shift and somebody took her car.

But they only drove it about 5k's and left it sitting on the side if the freeway with lights on and engine running...

Bit of a Marie Celeste kinda situation.

Why go to the trouble of busting in, hot wiring it, only to dump it?

Was it stolen to order and was the wrong car ( who'd steala e36?

Or maybees, it wasn't running too good with the wiring all hacked?

Obviously they had another car, and just left it there, nothing taken, nothing damaged..

Mystery??

The power & performance probably scared them :P

Easy there Glenn, we don't know if it's an asthmatic M44 or a ground-shaking, neck-snapping M42 :P

needed to get there in a hurry....

A friend had his Nissan Terrano stolen from the ellerslie races, was found the next day out west in a similar state. Police said it was quite common for people (drunk) to "borrow" a car after such events to get a cheap (as in free) ride home...

I wish my e36 was just driven down the road and dumped...

Why would people do that, thats risking a massive fine and possibly jail time just for like what, 10-20 dollars in a taxi?

I guess they might of been heavily intoxicated

A little bit offtopic but I had a blue E34 sedan about 4 months ago some may remember it. i sold it to a guy that then apparently used the car in a robbery the following day and dumped the car. they hadnt changed the car into thier name though i had sent my bit, and the cops wanted to arrest me! the fact i banked the proceeds and VTNZ date stamped my half of the COO papers saved my ass. Theres some crazy people out there
