WTB: E46 325i/328i front and rear brake setup

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

After front complete brake calipers and rotors, 300X22

And rear complete brake calipers and rotors, 294X19

These are fitted to the e46 325i/328i

Not worried about the brake pad condition but the rotors must be in good condition.

Willing to pay between $300-400. Also could be interested in e36 M3 front brakes and hubs for the right price.

Thanks Niroy

Calipers for e36 and e46(apart from 3litres+) have the same part number(although they do have different bleed screws and some other not important differences). The difference is in the carrier. Some e46's and z3's use the smaller carrier that will not clear the larger rotors.

Why not go for 330 brakes?

I did think about running the 330i front set up with the e46 325/8i rear set up.

The thing which worried me is the increased front brake bias and the increased pedal travel.

The best compromise is using the e46 325/8i brake set up.

Then the bias will not be affected, in fact it will introduce more rear bias.

But ideally i would run the e36 m3 front setup with the e46 325/8i rear.

I will see what is available, and the prices and make my decision.

This is what I run in my e30 and it has awesome stopping power and balance.

Thats reassuring! Did you notice any brake pedal travel change?? Are you using standard rotors and pads?

I had the standard pedal box without a booster and it was a mission to stop the car because the pedal was so heavy, then I got a proper pedal box and it fixed it. As it is a racecar I am using race pads with standard rotors.
