max 27 Report post Posted February 2, 2012 Can anyone tell me what this gauge tells me? I'm guessing its telling me the pressure of the fuel injection, but why?
polley 916 Report post Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) Fuel pressure. Looks as if someone has installed an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator for some weird reason.. (and kept the factory one :S) Edited February 2, 2012 by polley
Greg111 13 Report post Posted February 2, 2012 If in fact it is a fuel pressure guage, it's an E30, so at some stage someone put it there to diag a fault etc. No harm in leaving it there.
max 27 Report post Posted February 2, 2012 Cheers! So it would detect a fault such as a vacuum leak?
Neal 545 Report post Posted February 2, 2012 Can anyone tell me what this gauge tells me? I'm guessing its telling me the pressure of the fuel injection, but why? Was the engine supercharged in the past ? Other wise not sure why you engine would have an after market rising rate fuel regulator added. I have a fuel pressure gauge on my mini turbo engine. Handy for spot checks to make sure that fuel pressure is 4psi higher than boost pressure.

Don't think so, although its a pretty fresh transplant, I've only had the car for around 6 months, bought it off an independent BMW specialist who I guess did some mods, Msport chip etc. It sure goes hard. Just wondering if I should keep an eye on it or not..
