Mk1Mad 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2012 Hi Guys, new to the forum but not to cars. Just hoping someone can help me out with decoding a part number for a lens on my partners 2003 318ti Compact. Someone broke it in the weekend and I need to order a new lens cover for the indicator. Im hoping to pop the bumber back in, but replace the lens. The cars VIN ends with FU59656. As you can see, the lens is a clear type, all the lens' I can find have a pattern on their inside face. (Pelican Parts etc.) From searching the web I believe this is a late 2003 car, for which a clear lens was installed. Numbers off the lens read 1244 E1 1A/01 133. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Nick

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Theres more damage there than just an indicator lamp. Going by the picture it looks like the whole headlight has been pushed in also, which will break its mounts. You need to buy the whole indicator lamp. You can't just buy the lense. Insurance ??? BTW: The cars build date is April 2003 Edited February 6, 2012 by *Glenn*
Mk1Mad 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2012 Cheers Guys. The car has just come back from an insurance job after a roadsign was blown over onto it. Not good timing at all!! Not even a note left... Im hoping the damage isn't too bad underneath but haven't had a chance to get in there yet. Thanks Glen and Hybrid, I've had excellent dealings with Jeff Grey in the past so have just sent them an email. Glen, I'm hoping its not the headlight as they appear to have just hit the bumber which I would assume is mounted seperatarley to the body from the bumper? I better get under the body, maybe remove the headlight to check its mounts. I would much prefer to replace the whole indicator unit as opposed to the whole headlight unit! Headlights are expensive!!
